Mike McGrane, USAF
Mike McGrane is the NorCal Lending Director of Veteran Launch, based in the Sacramento area. His duties are mainly as a Business Development Officer and Underwriter. Mike works with small business owners or their spouse who are U. S. Veterans to help choose the best type of financing for their growing business. He has extensive experience understanding comprehensive business goals and solutions needed to assist in business lending. Mike has earned the trust and respect of his clients over his 28-year career in the banking and credit industry. His wealth of knowledge allows him to provide the superb personal service and financial perspective to veterans.
Prior to joining Main Street Launch Small Business Finance, Mike was a Business Development Officer at various Sacramento area banks including North Valley Bank and Wells Fargo Bank/Wachovia for over 28 years, where he specialized in Small Business Administration (SBA) Guaranteed Loans. He has been in the SBA industry for more than 22 years. Mike had been named to the Wachovia President’s Club for four consecutive years. Mike earned his MBA from the University of Phoenix and his undergraduate Bachelor’s Degree in Finance from Iowa State University. He served six years in the U.S. Air Force and three years in the Air Force reserve.
Mike is on the Advisory Board for the Northern California Small Business Development Center and participates in the VFW, The American Legion and several other industry related organizations. He feels blessed to have a loving wife and four children. His hobbies are golf, tennis, skiing, softball and stock option investing.
Josh Marquez, USMC
Josh rejoins the Veteran Launch team as Program Manager where he is responsible for conceiving, organizing, promoting, and implementing effective programmatic initiatives within Veteran Launch. You can find him interfacing with veterans at events, through calls and emails, as well as networking events to support our veteran borrowers with the tools they need to be successful.
As a Marine Corps veteran, helping others ranks high on Josh’s priority list. During his tours overseas he participated in several Humanitarian Disaster and Relief (HADR) operations, including the 2011 earthquake/tsunami that devastated not only the northern part of Japan but the whole region. Josh is thrilled to be a part of the veteran community and is dedicated to serving those who answered when their country called.
In his spare time, Josh enjoys finding new trails to take his rescue dog and has visited most of the National Parks in California. He holds a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from California State University, East Bay.
In June 2018, Darius relocated to San Diego to replicate his work and serve veteran, active duty and military spouse business owners, in Southern California, under Main Street Launch’s program – Veteran Launch. Darius is currently working with The Rosie Network, REBOOT, the Small Business Development Center, the Chamber of Commerce, the Small Business Administration and banking institutions to reach these businesses who don’t qualify for conventional financing sources.
Darius managed the San Francisco Emerging Business Loan Fund (EBLF) and Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) for Main Street Launch since 2012. There he worked side by side with the Mayor’s Office, Office of Economic Workforce Development, and a wide variety of Community Partners to provide financial and technical assistance to the underserved small businesses located in San Francisco. Under his supervision, Main Street Launch funded 136 businesses, deployed $17.9 million and created 688 full time jobs and retained an additional 426 full time jobs.
Darius brings over a decade of experience in vast industries including textile importing, apparel manufacturing, small business consulting, and marketing. Additionally, he has volunteered for non-profit organizations such as Centro Community Partners and Save the Children. Entrepreneurship runs in Darius’ family which further validates the work he does with Main Street Launch Small Business Finance. Darius holds an M.B.A in Management from San Francisco State University and a B.A in Professional Sales from Coles College of Business at Kennesaw State University, Georgia.
Robert Blundell, USMC
Robert Blundell is the Portfolio Manager for Veteran Launch. He manages risk levels in the portfolio and provides technical assistance to clients. Robert brings a wealth of knowledge and experience helping business start-ups and working with business owners to successfully negotiate business challenges.
Robert’s background as a retired U.S. Marine is invaluable in his ability to work with and understand veteran clients. He takes a holistic approach to advising clients in managing their personal goals and business goals. Robert’s experience includes work as a Department of Veteran Affairs Benefits Consultant. He also brings experience as a Business Development Manager and Entrepreneurial Strategy & Finance Adjunct Professor at California Polytechnic University Pomona.
Robert’s education includes an MBA with a focus in Entrepreneurship from Azusa Pacific University. His undergraduate work was in Organizational Leadership.
